Savoir-faire


According to the interpretation of certain etymologists, the name Abonndance means ‘Valley of free men’. If this remains a theory, battled out by historians and scholars in their believe that the pen is mightier than the sword, one thing is sure, people living in Abondance are free, proud to be so, and the talents of some of them merit special attention.

Local inhabitants from both the valley and the village have managed to preserve and hand down their savoir faire and traditions, so much a part of their identity. From the tiler laying his wooden slats to the baker, not forgetting the dove sculptor, we invite you to share these traditions with us whilst on holiday here, and during the various events, such as the « baÏses » , traditional markets held every week during the summer holidays.
