Accompanied by a guide, the children will be able to discover the treasures and history of the Abbey: medieval and monastic architecture, frescoes and restoration, daily life in the Middle Ages…
Includes: The church, the cloister and sacred art exhibit.

The game “On the hunt for Giacomo, the little angel"
Each team sets off to find a trickster angel and has to reply to questions about different parts of the Abby: sculptures and frescoes, monastic architecture, life in the Middle Ages and in a monastery...
At the end of each part, each team will receive a clue to find out where Giacomo is hiding.
Educational tools: game books will be handed out to the teams.

Workshop “Glass games, light games”
After an interactive presentation of this craft, the scholars will be able to make their own stained glass pane... out of paper and cardboard!

Workshop “Apprentice illuminators”
Pigments, parchments, gold leaf, calligraphy…. All this reminds us of the Middle Ages and the work of the Monks in the Abbey.
After observing a book of 15th century songs, the scholars will start out using this technique and will create their own piece of art to take home.

Workshop “Learn to fresco”
Abondance’s Abbey is known for its cloister decorated with magnificent 15th century frescoes.
We will show the children an interactive presentation of the fresco painting technique and they will then create their own fresco after preparing a lime plaster!
